The annual Opening Day sail past. Traditionally starting off the Regatta Grounds and heading into Sullivan‘s Cove and saluting the Governor onboard ML Egeria as you sail past.

Julie and Charles onboard RHONA H will be leading our Club boats, assembling off the Regatta Grounds by 1350, ready to join the sail past at 1415.

Consider joining the gathering of boats, after the sailpast, at anchor, at an area - depending on the weather - that will be advised on the day

A great day out with lots of boats on the water, and a chance to fly your Albatross burgee with pride!

Georgie and Ash spent 6 months caretaking on Maatsuyker Island in the South West National Park over the summer of Sept 2023 – Apr 2024. Together they will share their experience of the island, station and the caretaker role before moving onto their personal experience of living in isolation in such a wild place.

Georgie and Ash will share stories of what unfolded for them through yarns, soundscape and imagery. These will offer you a sense of what it is like to live and breathe the environment; daily tasks; breakages; weather observations; 8-10m swells; sculpted tea tree; barking seals; partying Shearwater; humidity; grass in your navel; visitors; caretaker traditions; maintenance; separation; sky country; sea country; radish leaf soup; changes; stability; heart, and (we might as well throw it in) … soul of the experience.

The Merino Room at the Old Woolstore is the venue for CYCT‘s 50th Anniversary Dinner. Easy access with parking nearby for those arriving by car, expect a great night out with a decent feed, a few interesting anecdotes recalling good times past, a video showing so many events and cruises and members in interesting places!

If you take your boat into Constitution Dock for the night, it is only a short stroll to the Old Woolstore. There could be sundowners onboard member boats before the dinner, and a breakfast is being arranged on Sunday morning before we head out to sea.

Payment by card is required at the time to secure your seats. If you want to pay by bank transfer then transfer the money to the CYCT bank account and advise Mark Stephenson who will then do your registration.

The evening‘s catering will be on a pre-ordered basis and your choice of meals is included with your registration. There is a choice for entree and main course, with Rosemary Kerrison‘s delicious 50th Anniverary Cake for our sweets. Special diets are catered for too.

* * * CANCELLED * * *

Sadly the Lunch has been cancelled. The Committee decided that due to very few registrations and as this is a major cost for the Club, that is was prudent to cancel.

The cruise will still go ahead with a BYO get together planned during the weekend.
