East Coast cruise

Richard and Shona are now unable to be Cruise Contacts for this cruise, with Tracey Taylor and Gordon Armstrong now sharing the role. The Club thanks Tracey and Gordon for stepping in at short notice.

The cruise will still be travelling through the canal and heading as far north as skippers and the weather allows. The constant easterly weather will be easing over the next week so more options for stopovers will be available to cruisers.

Saturday 05 March is the start day, with an overnight planned for Connellys Marsh or Lime Bay before transiting the canal on Sunday afternoon. Plenty of time to pack up the boat and head around to Norfolk Bay on Saturday before a get together ashore - followed by a slow start to Sunday.

High water Hobart is 1.1m at 1224 hours, and using information from the Cruising Guide would have the transit starting around 1430 hours.

Enough time to sail on with the forecast South East wind and to anchor in Deep Hole on Maria Island for the night.

As usual, all decisions made by skippers are their responsibility and all suggested events are subject to suitable weather. If you can only join the cruise for a few days, don't hesitate to contact the Cruise Contacts, they'd encourage you to come along.
