The Weather looks great for this years Opening Day, so I encourage you to head out on the water and celebrate the opening of the sailing season.
Traditionally a day spent on the water around the city with a sail past acknowledging the Governor onboard ML Egeria. A day of bunting being streamed from bow sprit to mast head, onto to the bumpkin then along the handrails back to the start. Yes, a day for showing off all your bunting, regardless of what the words or messages these flags put together might say! Commodore Scott Poulter will be aboard the Egeria at the invitation of the Governor.
Advice to hand requires assembling off the Regatta Ground around 1330 hours. The sail past starts at 1400, passing between MV Baby Grand, a Grand Banks cruiser and an orange buoy. Different clubs will be starting at different times, moving one after the other into Sullivans Cove.......
The CYCT start time is 1425. Our fleet will be led by Past Commodore & CYCT Life Members Paul & Rosemary Kerrison onboard WAYAREE showing the CYCT banner. Member boats to follow WAYAREE in an alphabetical order and to maintain a tight knit group as we progress......
There will be a red and yellow buoy as you move past the wharves and pass this to port, then proceed to ML Egeria in the middle of the bay and pass her to port as well, with skippers saluting the Governor as you do, and waving to the Commodore.

That's the end of the formalities. Many boats traditionally move,to an appropriate anchorage to socialise. The Eastern end of Howrah beach looks to be appropriate for the weather. Scott is encouraging our members to overnight on your boat.
